Job Description
To follow a recognised ConstructionSkills apprenticeship route through to gaining an NVQ2 in Scaffolding and Access
The apprentice would be given an induction and a six month trial at our yard to assess their suitability before being registered with ConstructionSkills CISRS scheme. The apprentice would then embark on a training programme which would involve working and learning on site under the supervision of a qualified scaffolder.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Ability to identify defective equipment and remove from service immediately
- Assisting in the servicing of equipment, stacking and storing
- Ensuring that equipment and vehicles are maintained in a clean and tidy condition at all times
- Understanding and co-operation in all Health & Safety matters
- Selecting the correct materials and assisting the scaffolder on site
Reports directly to the Yard Manager during the initial 6 months and to a Supervisor /Chargehand/Scaffolder for the remainder of the training period.

Salary Range: Weekly Rate based on 40 hours - Year 1 £180, Year £240, Year 3 £280
Hours: Yard hours are 09.00-18.00 hrs. Site hours are 08.00-17.00 hrs (each 8 hrs + 1 hr of breaks)

Qualifications / skills
- Good arithmetic, written and communication skills
- Must be able to map read
- Must be able to use a tape measure
- Good with heights
- Problem solving, improvising and use of own initiative
